Acknowledgements

The Lothian Papers is a collection of the records of the Lothian Publishing Company deposited in the State Library by Thomas C. Lothian in 1945 when he began to withdraw from active participation in the firm. In 1982 the then Manager of the Company, his son Louis A. Lothian, authorised the State Library of Victoria to administer the copyright of the collection. The publishing business created by Thomas Lothian is now carried on as Lothian Books, with his grandson, Peter Lothian, as Manager.
